LOGISTICS MANAGER

Cape Town City Center

Unfortunately, only Cape Town-based candidates will be considered.

Criteria:

· 5+ years’ experience in Exports, Freight, Courier Services, experience shipping stock to UK, Australia and UAE will be particularly beneficial

· Existing relationships with Service Providers in Shipping, Air, Road and Road Freight

· Strong leadership, able to lead and influence a stable team

· Available immediately and happy on an indefinite contract

Daily functions:

· Manage and organise logistics supply chain, company resources, receiving, shipping, storage and distribution of specialised stock.

· Ensure the right logistics products and services are procured to ensure effective and smooth shipping and movement.

· Management of logistics team (4 staff)

· Adhere to company occupational health and safety procedures at all times

STOCK MOVEMENT, STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION

· Manage receipt of stock selection from the various sources

· Organise movement and tracking of stock

· Manage inventory stock takes of storerooms

· Arrange logistics, domestic, regional and international movement of all stock and supplies, as required

· Order packing material and logistics supplies to meet demand

· Arrange for customization, as requested and directed

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING

· Obtain quotes and shipping solutions

· Obtain packaging material and crating for shipment according to specification

· Complete all required shipment and customs clearance paperwork before shipment is sent

· Maintain logistics sections by completing logistics documentation on orders, updating stock checked status, shipment dates and receipt dates.

· Create stock movement and maintain and update stock movement inventory records and location of goods

· Update logistics shipment tracking sheet and keep customers informed

· Troubleshoot shipping problems and delays

· Arrange all shipping as required

· Arrange logistics for exhibitions and events

Contract length: 1-3 months

Expected Start Date: 2021/03/15
